Phone Finder Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Phone Finder iOS app ("Phone Finder", "we", "us") handles information. Phone Finder is a local, on-device utility.
1. Who we are
Phone Finder is published by RED HISTORY (bundle ID: com.redhistory.FindPhone). For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information we process
Phone Finder processes the following on your device to provide features you choose:
- Microphone audio — for Sound Find (clap / whistle / snap), Voice Phrase listening, and the Echo Range mini-game. Audio is used for on-device detection / speech recognition; we do not operate a Phone Finder server that stores your recordings.
- Speech recognition — when you set or use Voice Phrase, Apple's Speech framework may process audio to produce text. Processing follows Apple's system behavior and privacy controls.
- Motion / device sensors — for Motion Guard and Charge + Motion combo (accelerometer / related Core Motion data stay on device).
- Battery / charging state — for Charge Guard and related alerts (system APIs on device).
- Camera (optional) — only if you enable Intruder Selfie; one front-camera still may be captured when an alarm triggers.
- Photo Library (optional) — only to save that selfie when you allow Photos access.
- App settings and local stats — preferences (sensitivity, sounds, language, false-trigger counters, saved voice phrase text) stored in on-device storage such as UserDefaults. The voice Phrase is a text phrase, not a biometric voiceprint.
- Live Activities (iOS 16.1+) — may show armed / triggered status on Lock Screen or Dynamic Island; content is generated on device.
Phone Finder does not use GPS / continuous location to track you. It is not Apple Find My and does not provide remote locate or wipe.
3. Data we do not collect (v1.0.0)
- No Phone Finder user account or profile.
- No advertising network; v1.0.0 is ad-free and has no subscriptions.
- No intentional analytics or crash-reporting SDK that uploads personal content to our servers in v1.0.0.
- We do not sell your personal information.
If Apple or iOS system services process data (e.g. Speech, App Store), that processing is governed by Apple's policies.
4. Permissions
iOS will ask for permission when a feature needs it. You can deny or later revoke access in iOS Settings. Denying optional camera/photos does not block core alarms; denying microphone prevents sound-based features.
5. Retention
Settings and local counters remain on your device until you change them, clear them in-app (where available), or delete the app. Optional selfies you save live in your Photo Library under your control. Uninstalling Phone Finder removes app-local data; Photos you saved remain unless you delete them.
6. Children
Phone Finder is a general utility (App Store age rating 4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for our own servers because we do not run such collection in v1.0.0. Guardians should supervise device permissions.
7. International users
Processing described above occurs on your device (and via Apple system services where applicable). We do not operate a Phone Finder cloud backend for user content in v1.0.0.
8. Changes
We may update this policy when features or practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
